ZIP Code Lookup: City, County & Time Zone
Enter a five-digit ZIP code and see where it is in seconds.
How do you use the ZIP code lookup?
Type the five digits of a ZIP code and press the button. The tool finds the place that uses that code in our data and shows its city, state, county, time zone and coordinates, with a link to the full city page when one exists. The lookup runs in your browser: only a small data file for the first digit of your ZIP code is downloaded, so results appear almost instantly and nothing you type is sent to our server.
What does a ZIP code tell you?
A ZIP code identifies a mail delivery area. It tells you roughly where a place is, because the first digit points to a region and the first three digits to a regional sorting center. It does not tell you the exact city limits, school district or tax jurisdiction, because delivery routes can cross those lines. Learn the details in how ZIP codes work.
Why might a ZIP code not be found?
Some codes are used only for post office boxes, a single organization or military mail, and are not tied to a community. Others have been created or retired since the dataset was compiled. If a code is not found, double-check the digits, then consult the United States Postal Service for the authoritative answer. Our dataset links about 32,112 ZIP codes to places.

Open the city page to see the other ZIP codes used by the same place, nearby cities and distances to major hubs. If you are comparing addresses from several listings, use the distance calculator to see how far apart they are, and read the comparison checklist for ideas on what else to check. To browse by region instead, start from the state directory.
